Move and align layers You can move and align any layer or multiple layers using the Arrange tool. Move a layer. You can format text so it aligns to the left, right, center, or both sides of the text box. In a bounded text box, you can also align text vertically. The spacing options let you adjust the space between characters and lines of text.

Note: To vertically align text, you must add text to a bounded text box, not a free one as free text boxes are automatically resized based on the amount of text inside them. Bounded text boxes have eight layer handles white squares indicating they can be resized in any direction. Free text boxes have two layer handles, one on each side of the text box.

Select one or more characters: Click in front of the first character, then drag across the characters you want. Select a word: Double-click the word. Select a paragraph: Triple-click in the paragraph.

Select a range of text: Click in front of the first character, then hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click at the end of the text you want to select.
