Parallels Desktop Installation Assistant helps you to get up and running in a few minutes. You can cancel at any time. This update for Parallels Desktop for Mac 1. I just need to run a couple software programs that are windows only and have been stuck between a virtual box or cloud services. Both seem to have enough lag to put me off of using them on a regular basis. Running windows on this is very smooth. Compared to the other options I have tried this one is the first that feels like an ‚apple‘ solution.
Clean, great UI, and just runs smoothly. I plan on purchasing after my trial. What is that for? It says I can run Windows and hense its apps. The instrallation was easy, but the apps that I installed did not work. They show that they do but there is no actual result. For instance, I used GoPro Fusion Studio app, and it opened the applicaiton but the videos thumnails are all black.
So al the stitches videos are just black color. I also tried other apps related to linguistic corpora that are identical to what I have on my authentic Windows PC. And, again, the Parallels shows you that the app is running but when you output the result, everything is empty. The files occupy space but there is nothting inside. I also intalled Steam and wanted to „TRY“ if the games would work. It does not matter who is causing these issue, but as a user, I am not going to troubleshoot any of these.
So, it’s a 1 star from me. I absolutely need the ability to have a virtual environment for work and for personal projects. Having a native solution within OSX is great, having as solution which is fast, has a light footprint, and that gets out of the way is even better! I like Parallels so far I’m currently using a trial and plan to purchase it in the next few days when my trial ends. My only suggestion to the developers is this: Get more support for the M1 chip. We need more than the 5 or 6 virtual solutions you’ve provided.

Swift Publisher is made by Belight Software who are also the team behind Live Home 3D which is one of the best home design software for Mac users. However, it still includes many professional features you get in expensive DTP software such as Master pages , guide lines , grid layers , tables and more.
Swift Publisher is ideal for producing booklets, bulletins, flyers or brochures and makes rearranging elements such as images, tables and text very easy. Swift Publisher has professional looking templates which you can customize anyway you want and help you create layouts quickly. There are also more advanced touches like the possibility to define bleeds and configure correct DPI for print publishing.
There are also lots of easy to follow video tutorials to get you started with Swift Publisher although we found you still sometimes have to Google certain functions to work out how to do them. We noticed stability can be an occasional issue when working with lots of images but for pamphlets, flyers and straightforward publications, it works very well.
You can find full details on Swift Publisher pricing here. You can read our full Swift Publisher review here. The closest thing to a free equivalent to Publisher on a Mac is Scribus. Scribus is best for creating books but can also be used to create magazines, brochures, newsletters and posters. Firstly you need to install Ghostscript on your Mac in order for it to work.
The stable version of Scribus only works on 32 bit Macs too. Only the development version of Scribus 1. You can check out our full review of Scribus for more.
There is no desktop publishing software that can open the MS Publisher. However, there are ways to open Publisher files on Mac by converting them to another format which you can then open in most of the MS Publisher alternatives featured here.
